How do we get views on youtube? I think I have some interesting content.

I climbed the highest crane in SF and nearly died and recorded the whole event.

I took my lamborghini out and dragged a friend on a razor scooter we tried to go across the golden gate bridge but we were stopped by bridge patrol,

but still it's not catching fire, how does one get noticed or exposed on youtube?

It takes time. Put relevant keywords in title tags and description. Post on Facebook and twitter to people who will like and share it. My first video got 50 views in a month and newest video 25000 in a week. Not all videos are equal

It has been said but let me say it again. IT TAKES TIME:) You just got to keep grinding dude. Keep uploading videos and make sure your content is great.
And of course you have to do your keyword research too so people actually have a change of getting to your channel when the search YouTube.. Twitter, Facebook, Reddit can also help you if you havent tried that already

Dude, you posted your first video 5 days ago. It won't happen overnight. After over 2 years I have 409,000 views and 26030 subs, but my first sub took 2 weeks! I still have videos that are 2 years old with only 300 or so views. Get some good channel artwork (I can help you with that), make sure your tags and keywords are exciting (but don't lie), make a Twitter account (if you don't already have one). Post your videos there too. Facebook, in my experience, doesn't help much, but it's another avenue to consider. I think in 6 months, your channel will be doing well.

Like everybody mentioned above. In addition to that, make videos that audience is searching every time. Make videos on popular topics, then write tags cleverly, so that your tags give tough competition to other popular videos.
