400 Subs -> ~100 in a Day

Well, I definitely woke up to some good news today!

Yesterday, the latest video on my One Minute Economics channel started doing well on Reddit, on the huge /r/videos subreddit (about 11 million members). It's still there, on page 2.

Before that happened, I was sitting at 370-371 subscribers and was optimistic that I might get close to 400 thanks to Reddit.

Well, I went to bed and woke up to a whopping 465 subs :)

It looks like my next milestone thread (for 500 subs) is closer than I would have thought.

I have done well on /r/videos before with my bitcoin video but it seems this video (which explained what pyramid schemes and Ponzi schemes are) generated a LOT more subscribers for the same number of views.

The only two explanations I can think of:

1) they found the video more interesting than the bitcoin one

2) I am now posting two times per week, so the channel looks more active

You have a very good channel!

Glad you like it Andrew :)

If I manage to keep up the "two videos per week" thing for let's say a year or so, the channel will end up being ridiculously useful. I'd basically have 100+ videos by this time next year, neatly categorized via playlists and what not. It won't be easy but I already have 10 videos lined up and ready to be published, so enough for 5 weeks. Therefore, even if I end up being busy for an extended period of time (for example when I'll *finally* be launching my book), I'll have videos in the "vault" and will therefore not neglect the channel.

Thanks! :)

Well done mate! Keep up the good work! Ive never promoted my videos on reddit would you recommend i do in order to grow? thanks a lot good luck with the channel!

I'd recommend asking someone with a decent Reddit account (the more karma, the better) to make the submission and then at the very least asking a couple of friends to upvote it and give it an initial boost. Kind of like a snowball effect.

Congratz, you got one great channel! I see you going big. Just subscribed. And you got content. I'd be happy to promote occasionally.

May I ask what software you use for those animations?

Glad to have you on board, thanks a lot for the help!!! :)

GoAnimate is used for the videos.

Nice channel! You can tell that you put a lot of effort into your videos, as well as it is very informative! Keep up the good work and you will grow further!

Thanks, I've really been working my you-know-what off but it's worth it, I'm really happy that the channel is becoming more useful with each week that passes.

Thanks, it's definitely not easy but it's really awesome to see that people (you guys, for example) appreciate your work. Makes everything worth it.
